some things just aren't meant to be

me & facebook recently broke up.
reason for the split: irreconcilable differences.

i don't plan on returning.
and i've had several sweet people ask why.

and to those kind friends i would say:
it's not you, it's me.

there were a lot of little reasons me & FB needed to separate.
mostly it was just a massive distraction from my priorities.
but also, my little sensitive soul had a hard time knowing every one's opinion & business about everything at all times {in third person}.
*it was too much for me.

there are certainly things about it {& people} i miss.
i have a lot of really witty friends & family members that provided highly entertaining statusi.
i really miss people from all the way across the world that i don't otherwise get to hangout with! {that's you jasna!}
i miss knowing where the party is at, and what my nearest & dearest are up to.
i am realizing the need to cultivate my real, one-on-one, in-the-flesh relationships.

but just like with any other breakup...
you have to say goodbye to the fantastic {as well as the not-as-fantastic} for the greater good.
rip off the bandaid & don't look back-style.

and facebook: since you've been gone [insert me belting kelly clarkson],
i haven't regretted my decision much.

i feel free!!!

what can i say?
we just weren't MFEO.

Oh dear do I feel like you do! Sometimes I get so caught up in what everyone is doing that I start to feel like a loser....I have had serious thoughts about deleting the FB account....you are helping me to gird up the loins.

Good job! I have also been considering deleting my FB account lately. There are just so many other things to do that are WAY more important. I just haven't been able to do it. I put myself on a FB diet and so far it seems to be working. If I slip back into the addiction I will delete. Thanks for being proof that is can be done!

After I ditched my fb, someone at work said, "you're so brave!" There's something seriously wrong when something becomes so important and time consuming.

You go girl!

Angie, first of all, let me just tell you, the moment I read your first blog (well the 1st one for me anyways); I "fell in love". You are truly one of the most amazing people I have ever "met". I miss you so very much on FB! But that being said, I understand! I once was a true addict of Second Life - when I decided to go cold turkey I also had to say goodbye to some people I cared about. It was, without a doubt, one of the best decisions of my life. I am grateful that FD is not that time consuming for me 'cause 90% of all of my friends live very, very far. I miss you but you know the best what's good for you and I wouldn't love you as much as I do if I didn't support you 100%. Just keep blogging...I LOVE your blogs...I'll have to do that myself...in my heart you are my forever-friend...LOVE YOU and LOVE those beautiful girls you have!

Well if you stop blogging I just want you to know I will probably have to start therapy. Seriously. In the mornings, every morning I check to see if I have any emails - important ones from Peru and Borders ~ not Facebook notifications. Then I hit the blogs to see my son's mission president's wife's blog and yours. I start my day either laughing or with a great reminder that life is good and fun! Don't worry about the Facebook experience, but please, cherish the blog experience and your little piece of heaven in your very own kitchen and family room with your girls & hubbie.

I think lots of people want to delete their facebook accounts. I think about it on a weekly basis.

thanks for blogging though cuz I miss you friend! I love your(I mean ours now) bedding comfortable, sleep-less nights.
thanks again! Gotta keep on top of those if these wear out( i hope not) so I can get more.
I know FB can be a distraction and a nucense and a addiction for anyone.
I try and seperate myself from time to time and monitor the kiddos.

still miss ya. :)
