Fa la la la la, la la la la.

I did a little decorating for Christmas on Monday...

My Christmas wreath.
{Handmade by Clodhopper '03.}

We have a bowl of festive sparkles & cinnamon pinecones on the table.
{Chloe is all up in it's grill.}

I made three matching stockings the first year I was married.
{Mr. Miyagi used the third til Chloe was born.}

And one of my favorite things about the season:
WRAPPING packages!
Can't wait!!

so i lied

sometimes when i say i'm gonna take millions of pictures, i just mean that i'll forget to because i'm having so much fun.

hence me only having a {small-ish handful} of happy snaps to share from my turkey day extravaganza.

but that's okay, because they are all pretty tender.

i had an {extremely enjoyable} weekend filled with fun family, lotsa calories, and backing out of the turkey trot due to myron's entire bod being totally jacked since his accident. {single tear} but! we had a fabulous tasting breakfast at the dunn's instead!
{thanks debra!}

and then the next day:

eric came home from outer mongolia!

and he looks exactly the same, only even better.

it's SO good to have him chillin' in az/the same continent.

chloe loves him.
{i knew she would.}

thanksgiving dinner was extra special this year...
feasting+my's b-day+eric's arrival=par-tay!

hi gramps.
{you're a rockstar.}

and isn't this your favorite picture of ryan ever?!

visitors came from utah. we had cute houseguests that slept on our two twin beds in the black hole.

{it was delightful.}

{i told you we'd bust out a puzzle.}

*back to real life, yos.*

{happy 99.9 listening, setting up your tree, stringing christmas lights, wrapping & shopping, baking, and maybe stressing.}

and preparing simplicity if you're me...

the facts were these:

Ring Ring to me {at 8:30-ish am}

A: Hello.
M: I got in an accident.
A: Was it your fault?
M: No
A: Are you okay?
M: Yes.
A: Is the other guy okay?
M: Ya.
A: I'm glad it wasn't your fault.

Click.
{Angie hangs up.}

Ring Ring to Myron {at 8:32-ish am}

A: Wait, WHAT? You woke me up, what did you say?
M: Ha, ya I thought so....

and he proceeds to tell me about this:

southern & los alamos car wreck=my husband.
and some old guy.
{bless his lil heart.}

thanks goes to the heavens above for keeping my boy safe.
and said old guy.
{bless his lil heart.}

bye, bye yaris.
it was fun loving you for six-ish months &
appreciating the joys of your ever-so rockin' gas mileage.

most people that know me are aware of my severe hatred for: cars, car accidents, car insurance, freeways, side streets, wreckless driving, drunk driving, travel in general, yeild signs, hasty/cranky drivers, left hand turns, etc...

this being said, i am VERY grateful that Heavenly Father blessed us w/ an anti-tragedy on this fine friday morning.

and myron is grateful for muscle relaxers.

{BUCKLE YOUR darn SEATBELTS!}
and have a happy slash safe weekend.

it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood.

today is just one of those beyond-great days.
not only is it overcast & ever-so lovely outside...

but also:

*chloe & i are simultaneously in ultra-good moods
*i got my choppers cleaned @ the dentist this morning
*we did a lil b-day shopping for our daddy
*and we got to see {both} grandma & granny all in one day!

today is just one of those days where i'm totally gonna open all the windows and chill to:

*obadiah parker's "hey ya"
*coldplay's "green eyes"
*lisa loeb's "truthfully"
*norah jones' "the nearness of you"
&/or
*vanessa carlton's "pretty baby"

{we've already been over to the park, but we'll probably hit it up again post-nap.}
we even felt a few-ish sprinkles.

today is just one of those days when i'm feelin' like:

*starting my christmas cards
*watching "serendipity" over something warm
*emailing eric for the very last time!
*planting somethin' in my yellow pots on the porch
&/or
*phoning myron to just shoot the breeze

i repeat:
today is just one of those beyond-great days.

{hope yours is the same;
happy thursday}

"i've been awake for a while now"

bowie & i SO aren't morning people.

we really wish we were, but we just aren't.
{it's a fact of life.}

the girl typically sleeps in til at least 8:30 am these days.

{unless i wake her up earlier...but since i don't believe in waking up babies...this doesn't happen often.}

she'll usually catch the highlights of sesame during breakfast.

speaking of breakfast,
this was mine today:

-2 egg whites
-an orange
-and 4 pages of First Nephi

it was very yummy,
{minus the green drink & egg whites.}

***

it's now 12:50 and we are both ready for a nap.

chloe will be the only one getting one of those.
{dang.}

[sweet dreams & happy tuesday]

I've been tagged.

[ryan, eric, dad, heidi, & holly: turkey trot, thanksgiving 2004]

Seven Things {about my favorite holiday}:

1} Elder Dixon arrives home to 100 degree AZ from 20 below Mongolia, in like 11 days, 16 hours, 37 minutes, and 15 seconds. {Pushing-Daisies-time.}
And I couldn’t be more excited!

2} I plan to repeat “Ooooo, these mashed potatoes are so creamy” {in the voice of Midge Callaghan} @ Thanksgiving dinner, [at least five times].

3} Myron turns 28 years of age, two days after Thanksgiving. Like, as in, he’ll be 40 in 12 years. Weird.

4} The asthmatic & the slightly overweight {aka, Myron & I} are pumped to run the two mile fun run @ the Mesa turkey trot this year! {And it’s on, like Donkey Kong.} [10K next year, folks…I tried, but I’m not that cool yet.]

5} Christmas décor is set to be busted out on Monday, November 26th. Christmas tree is set to be busted out when I am convinced that Chloe & Mr. Miyagi won’t be in pine-needle/ornament-playtime-heaven 24/7.

6} Elf DVD will start being played on repeat ASAP, [perhaps during naptime.]

7} Thanksgiving weekend in a nutshell: Eat pie, bake yummy rolls, love carbs, chill w/ fun fam, finish Christmas cards, work puzzles {it’s tradish}, enjoy Utah company lots, inevitably cry tears of joy, lots of QT-runs, watch football {GO ASU!}, and sleep, and then eat some more stuffing.

{Happy best month ever!}

hi, my name is chloe and i was/am cute

I haven't blogged in a mere 36 hours,
and it has seemed like a year.
I haven't taken any photos either,
so you'll just hafta look at old-school Chlo'.
{PS: love her.}

Here's what I've been up to:

1. Slowly {emphasis on slowly} creating my boy-ish & girlie baby albums for December 7th's Babylicious @ SBEtc.

2. Sporting an astronomically-large sized zit on my chin that honestly needs it's own freaking zip code. {TMI}

3. Visiting the new outdoor mall by my casa twice & totally digging the Forever 21 there.

4. Thinking my husband is a total rockstar.

5. Itching to finish some home improvement projects so I can reveal my new pink something in Chloe's nursery.

Until next time...
{Happy Tuesday}

me

I recently took a personality test through
Rachel’s blog,here...

It was really fun.
You should try.

I answered a bunch of questions & then they told me that I was this:

You are The Giver

You strive to maintain harmony in relationships, and usually succeed. Articulate and enthusiastic, you are good at making personal connections. Sometimes you idealize relationships too much - and end up being let down. You find the most energy and comfort in social situations ... where you shine. In love, you are very protective and supporting. However, you do need to "feel special" - and it's quite easy for you to get jealous. At work, you are a natural leader. You can help people discover their greatest potential. You would make a good writer, human resources director, or psychologist. How you see yourself: Trusting, idealistic, and expressive. When other people don't get you, they see you as: Bossy, inappropriate, and loud.

My results were not as true of a match as I had anticipated.
So I wrote my own version of my personality; no test required.

[Caution: longer than life.]

You are Angie-ish.

You are imaginative, creative, and a whole lotta crazy. You see your world in bright colors. You are enthusiastic about life, unless it involves calling someone on the phone, wearing tight and uncomfortable clothing, participating in awkward confrontation, or going to the gynecologist.

Strengths include: counting large piles of cardstock, seeing the cup half-full or more {usually}, enjoying the simple things, consuming mass quantities of brown bubbly drink & coloring in between the lines.

Weaknesses include: basic coordination, self-esteem, spelling and grammar, charging cell phones, and taking binkies away from somewhat addicted toddlers.

You over analyze just about everything because you care too much about just about everything. You are deeply sensitive, which can be good or bad, depending on the situation, and whether or not it causes a stomach ulcer.

If you could describe yourself in one word, it would be passionate.

You despise competition, although you often compare yourself to others. Conflict makes your stomach turn, although you seem to be a magnet for drama.

You are a people pleaser. Meaning just that…you really like to please people. Seeing people smile makes you smile. You believe there is beauty in every person, regardless of their struggles. You believe in paying it forward. You believe friendship knows no religion. You believe in giving people the benefit of the doubt. You try not to judge. And sometimes you have a bad day & forget all of that. But by the grace o’ the heavens above, remember it the next morning, or week, {or month}.

You view yourself as a child of God, who knows their purpose and direction. And sometimes you view yourself as too chubby, but not enough to limit your portions.

People that don’t get you, view you as sorta weak & doormat-esque, annoyingly random, obnoxiously obsessed with all things pink, and somewhat idealistic.

Well, sorry to break it to you honey, but you ARE super idealistic. You believe that anyone can do anything they put their mind to. You are kinda cheesy & highly enjoy all things warm & fuzzy.

You are also extremely addicted to sugar.

You delight in 5th grade level reading, cozying up in a blankie & watching The Hills post-chlo-bedtime, chatting with myron into the wee hours of the night, self-help literature, flats/not heals, elbow length sleeves, a good & satisfying cleaning spree, homes where The Spirit is just palpable, office supplies, walks around the neighborhood in 78.4 degree weather, and bribing children at the scrapbook store w/ a delectable lollipop.

When you are stressed, you pick at your thumbs until you have hangnails with their own heartbeats.

At work you tend to procrastinate. You constantly have too much on your plate because you have way too many “desires of your heart” for yourself & your family. {ie: cute curtains, matching [fill in the blank], happy afternoons at the park & spiritual family home evening lessons.} You love your job, but hate it when it means no sleep for three straight days because you played too much & forgot to pay attention to it.

In love the sky is the limit. You are especially attracted to hysterical freckled redheads named Myron. And Curly Sue-ish, personality-bursting-@-the-seams toddlers named Chloe. You’d do just about anything for them. Including, but not limited to: giving birth, doing the laundry, and going trick-or-treating on your least favorite holiday.

Your family means the world to you. Your mom will always be your best friend & constant voice of reason. You secretly love that several of your family members all have your same large-ish nose, because that means there’s no denying they’re related. You love & appreciate your adoptive family, the Dunns, and all their tiny five dogs: Sassy, Gigi {may she rest in peace}, Daisy May, Gucci Prada, and Suki. You sorta love your own dog, and that’s probably the best you can do.

You believe in taking time out to watch 12.5 shows on television every week. And keeping your hands busy while you are at it. {Or not.}

You wish you didn’t lose your keys 3 times a day @ minimum. You wish you could have a miniature Emily Jones on your shoulder to tell you jokes at random times. You wish you wouldn’t have realized a quarter of the way through fam-photo-shoot this week, {with this cute girl} that your zipper was down slash open. You wish this e-friend was your next door neighbor. You wish confidence & self-security for your Chloe & her brighter-than-bright future. You wish for everyone to view themselves as unique & special. You wish your garage would clean itself.

You dream of someday being even more of a hermit than you already are. Like, for reals in the mountains, in a small-n-charming abode set on 5.2 acres of land, with your man, some chickens, and a hand-sorta-full of kids, grandkids, and wholesome & happy hubbub. Sans cell phones. Oh, and enough fundage to be modestly comfortable and to support your creative habits. And crippling pepsi addiction.

You are just Angie-ish.

{Now, THAT, my friends, is a much more accurate description of my person in a 946-word nutshell...}

PS…Happy November.
