Priceless Treasures from the Black Hole

Us Dunns have 4 bedrooms in our house.
1 is Mine & Myron's.
1 is Bowhead's.
1 is my Crafty Room.
& 1 is THE BLACK HOLE.

In the black hole you will find anything & everything that I don't know where to put/organize it.
There are old yearbooks, random computer cords, 3 large tupperwares full of Myron's mission memorabilia {ps: I gave Myron a coupon 3 years ago for his birthday, promising I'd scrapbook all of it!}, quilts I've never finished, a DI pile, a years worth of food storage that i continuously fail to rotate, 2 twin beds that i plan to set up, etc. It's basically a room full of projects & intimidating crap that I choose to ignore. It's a royal disaster area.

So, I set a goal to clean up 5 things, and 5 things only per day. That way, in about 2013, we will have a functioning bedroom, thus enabling us to have/store more children.

Today, I was rather proud of the five things that I chose to find a home for. They are very random & each made me laugh out loud.

1. A vampire costume for Mr. Miyagi.
I found myself wishing it looked like Edward.

2. Bill & Hillary paper dolls.
I'm not a pack rat, I promise.
I'm simply hanging on to these for my next white elephant gift exchange.

3. My Pee-Wee bobble head.
Compliments of Ryan Dixon a couple Christmas' ago. Aw, he knows me ever-so-well to assume I'd highly appreciate such a gift. It was like Christmas all over finding him today!

4. A poster of Napoleon's sweet dance skills.

5. Ariel Barbie
I found my old Barbie collection, and might have played with them for a half hour. Or maybe more. I found Ariel, which delighted Chloe to no end. We couldn't find her shells though, so we had to borrow a rockin' pink 80's shirt from Skipper.

I heart useless junk.
{Happy Wednesday}

You are officially invited to the Jones Cousin Christmas White Elephant Party if you have amazing gifts such as those. Only if you can top a Chester the Cheetah Cheetos stool..

Isn't it amazing the treasures we find while cleaning? I need to do that more often so I can find such exciting pieces of our lives that are hidden and waiting to be rediscovered. By the way...LOVE the pee wee bobble head. Where did he find that???

Emmy, Philip and I used the cheetah "ottoman" as we lovingly referred to it, for at least a week before it went out the door to be the hit of another white elephant party! Anyhoo, Ang, I laughed hard at the phone anxiety comment, but only because it is oh so true, and yet again we are twins. Maybe we should e-mail, but I don't think it's as quick, and I don't mind the world seeing our entire friendship being brought to present day, because I still think that Da Butta is hilarious. Oh, and I think of you whenever I go to Nordstrom because you were always the best at picking out things there, and I was often the beneficiary of your cute finds. So yes, we'll hang out come September and it will be an amazing day!
By the way, Skipper's shirt looks amazing on Ariel. I'd be totally jealous if I was Skipper. :)

You had the COOLEST Barbies and Barbie stuff! Do you still have the house and car?!?! (or was that Lindsay's). That's so awesome that you rediscovered it all. If I wasn't living so far away right now, I would definately already be at your house reinacting being 8 years old. Fun times!!!

sweet finds! who doesn't have a black hole in the house, i lovingly refer to ours as "the vortex!", but we don't have cool stuff in ours. noble plan to eliminate or find a place for the fabulous finds! we just had a life lesson learned form peewee in our house, IE," i know you are but what am I?" I teach my children important things from my vast stores of knowledge learned from 80's TV. gotta love the pee wee bobble head and i seriously need to get me an Edward! whoohoo!

What happened to Ariel's shells - Myron?? We had a black hole room for the first three years in our house, until we had too many kids and had to use the room to 'store' them too. Good luck with your five things. If all the stuff in there is that entertaining, I'd be all over that.

Oh... we had a "black hole" we called it "the rug"... as in "sweeping everything under the..." But lets be honest, who but you, would have such a great collections of finds in the rug... you- only you! If you ever want to play "clean sweep" I want to be invited! (sing it) FUNNY!

Meg got here first. She's like that. Loved the blog and the items of luv. In the "rug" I would hope in vain to find things as wonderful as Pee Wee Bobble head... Stop! Your Black hole kicks our "rug's" trash for sure. I am addicted to your blog. Peg

Those are some pretty fun finds for sure! I wish we had a room for the black hole to be contained in, but since we are already out of bedrooms...it kind of spreads throughout the house!
