i {heart} general conference

so basically, i totally forgot that it was the women's session of general conference tonight.
until my mom so kindly reminded me.

i opted to stay home & watch it via BYU channel so i didn't hafta put on a dress or leave the comfort of my humble abode. or put make-up on. or smile. {lol} or iron anything. or bring the chlo.
{myron's workin'}

i totally love-love-love general conference & have been craving it lately. it always inspires me in all things.
and i have been needing some inspiration lately with all the craziness of life.

so, it's been 2 months-ish since this post. remember?...the infamous, "i'm unhealthily disorganized/kill me if i eat another totinos pizza/my love handles are plotting to take over my body" post?? since that venting session o' blog, and settage of goals, i have made excellent progess. since then i have learned what a difference a plan can make. my chore charts make me happy. vacuumed carpets and an occasional domestic dinner for my husband-n- babe really makes me feel pretty cool.

but i still struggle w/ my constant life nemisis: time management.
i am often overwhelmed by responsibilities & obligations, while tryin' my darndest to be the best mom & wife i can be.
thus me, calling upon the heavens above a-freakin'-lot lately, in my plight to be a more ontop of it/less flakey individual.

that being said, my mom's reminder call this evening was much needed & greatly appricated. i knew the meeting would uplift & inspire me in my efforts o' life.

per usual, the messages were rockin'. they reminded me of my purpose & priorites. they reminded me all of all things i know in my lil angie heart to be real & true:

after the session & two loads of laundry, i had this overwelming/highly out of no-where thought, "hmmm...i should file."
random.
while filing, i came accoss my "church handouts" folder.
therein i found this awesome quote,

"when we put God first, all other things fall into their proper place or drop out of our lives. our love of the Lord will govern the claims for our affection, the demands on our time, the interests we pursue, and the order of our priorities. we should put God ahead of everyone else in our lives."
-ezra taft benson

moral of the story: tender mercies of the Lord are seriously the bomb.

{happy saturday night & sabbath morn, yos}

How'd I end up being your mom when I learn so much from you???...it should totally have been the other way around!

Conference was really good. I didn't know you could watch it on the BYU channel. I like going down to the church though. It's fun socializing with everyone. Love the quote. That was really cool. Thank you.

i like the socializing thing, too, but i *LOVE* staying home wearing sweats/pjs - whatever. {drinking a diet coke whilst listening wouldn't stink either!} but i played the good mom & took my girls down to the church. i saw your mom there, too. nonetheless, i needed the talks/messages & i'm looking forward to an even bigger dose next weekend.

Amen, g-friend! What a great way to kick off general conference week/weekend...thanks to you! I can relate to you as far as feeling frazzled goes. Perfect quote from Pres. Benson. BTW...we went to the SL in Chandler...a little bit more upscale than the one in Mesa, but STILL equally WT. :o) Thanks again for your oh-so-kind comments! See you in a few hours!

So today as I was majorly procrastinating on finishing my talk about preparing for general conference, I wandered onto blogger & browsed through blogs, & I'm not gonna lie, after reading your blog I was way motivated (& I even stole that quote for my talk). It was pretty much what I needed, so thanks!

Ang, sounds like we got the same take-home message in our living rooms last night! I opted for the couch-n-sweats version as well and wondered if I'd get as much out of it, but it totally rocked. And then I came upstairs and found you'd already blogged about it! You rock.

Ang-so i seriously needed that quote today! I can't even tell you. sometimes life gets crazy and you feel something missing and then you hear or read something that feels up your spiritual void. Thank you for sharing! Love-Lynds

Love it. All of it. That quote USED to be up in my room... And I seriously am putting it back up, out on my fridge. Along with my OWN "To Do" list schedule/plan. You rock mama!

So, are you coming Fri.? :0)

you make my life. i totally sympathize with your stated lack of time management although methinks it might be because you are super girl and do way more than anyone else would ever deem necessary or possible and still always have a hot outfit on and a smile on your face. Most of the rest of us just give up and you keep on going. In a word respect girl. major r-e-s-p-e-c-t towards you.

Thanks for re-linking the chore list! I so need something like this. Thanks for doing the hard work and testing it out! :) You really are so motivating! And about the reconnection link. I think it was through Maddy's originally, but then I think Crazymomof6 had something on one of my other friends and you were on hers....not really sure. Either way...I am so happy. It's like the old song, "we're reunited and it feels so good!" :) I loved GC too! Soooo needed it. I missed watching it at home on my couch with the sisters and mom. Here in Tx they don't put it on cable. Only sattelite and we have cable. Boo hoo....We are trying to figure out what to do this weekend. There is no way I am taking a 2 and a 1 year old to sit at the church. I guess we will all gather round the computer! Oh what fun that will be!
Tender mercies are truly the best! Thanks Angie!!

Ok so I remember when you sent me that AMAZING quote when I was off at college, having breakdowns/issues no doubt (you're an amazing bff for that btw). Anyway, I love getting inspired to do/be better, and getiing some SERIOUS help by "calling upon the heavens above" in the process. That's what life is all about. LOVE it!!
