the gift that keeps on giving

pretty much the awesomest {it's a word} thing happened to me.

my cute friend megan gave me her piano.

and yes, i just said, my cute friend megan GAVE ME HER PIANO!

unbeknownst to her, i have been telling the universe for [months] that i desperately wanted a piano for my home. i wasn't picky about the shape or size or brand or age. i've just always, always wanted a happy little piano.

i was {beyond} thrilled to take it off her hands & every time i see it i'm filled with gratitude for what a blessing it is to me.

i love music. i love singing. {even though i'm not very good at it, and am VERY shy to perform, ever.}

after my current massive project {camp} is over, i am going start tickling the ivories again.

i'm gonna bust out the children's songbook & hymn book & yummy sheet music galore-& re-learn how to play.

i'll be rockin' the Every-Good-Boy-Does-Fine & All-Cows-Eat-Grass action.
i'll be counting the 1-ee-&-ah, 2-ee-&-ah's galore.
i'll be markin' my sharps & flats with a pencil 'cause i always blasted forget them!

and every sibling of mine MUST come over and play "indians" for old times sake.

so[SO]so excited.

It's GREAT! And what a sweet friend! Love your frames on top too...

I have a great antique upright piano and reallllly want to paint it but my mom spent days stripping it and re-staining it just a year or so before I was born and I still hear about what a huge job it was, so I am pretty sure I won't be doing that any time soon...

I'm so glad you and your cute fam are loving the piano! Since I gave you the piano, do I get a private recital when you learn some songs? :)

Nothing makes me smile like reading a blog post by you! Last 2 weeks were awful! ;) Just because of you I'm going to go practice a hymn right now!

I'm so happy for you and your family. My boys are taking lessons (from me) this summer whether they like it or not. There's nothing like piano music to brighten my day!

That is so awesome, Angie! I was given a piano last year, and as badly as it needs to be tuned, I utterly treasure it. I have always wanted my children to grow up with music in their home as I did, and I have spent hour after peaceful hour learning the hymns and primary songs to see that that happens. So happy for your new addition! :)

Well, now 2 out of 6 Dixon siblings have free pianos. What are the odds?!

That one is extra cute (or maybe it just looks extra cute because it's in your cute house?)

P.S. I also reserve my ticket to the Concert of the Ten Little Indians. Front row please.

YAY! Rachel just told me her piano acquisition story, and I want to do a FLIP for you! EVERY home needs a piano.

I am so excited for your upcoming 1-ee-&-ah's ... it's gonna be awesome!
