Chloe's Book Nook

There is a small nook in our hallway downstairs.
This fabulous Marshall's find was just the right size to squeeze in there.
And perf for DVD collection storage.

That is, until Chlo-bow turned one.
I had to put a gate up, or else...

...she'd be all up in it's grill.
{single tear}

This has been a prob for a while, so this morning I decided to figure out a solution.
{'Cause I don't think Chloe's a fan of being a prisoner in her own home.}

So, I hit up my laundry room change jar.
{There is an unspoken rule in our house that if you leave change in your pockets, all proceeds go to me aka laundry service o' Dunn household.}

I rolled my change {which took me six months to collect} while Chloe consumed her breakfast.
We went to DI, Half Price Books, and Ross to score some sweet deals on used books.
We also purchased a posh stool for Chlo to cozy up on.

We came home & relocated the DVDs.
And then created a lil book nook for some toddler leisurely reading.

I couldn't be more excited about our new installment!
And Chloe's in total heaven.

{Happy Thursday}

Oh my gosh Ang, what a great idea! She looks so dang cute on that little stool...she is going to be counting to be reading before you know it!!

How stinking cute are you? Need I even ask? The answer is no, because it is clearly apparent when we look at your adorable little life and your oh so adorable girlie reading her her tiara. Way to be a fun mom and make me totally excited to have kids of my own. Unfortunately my kids will beg to go play at Chloe's, because Chloe's mom is very much the coolest mom ever! Way to make my phantom children jealous of your kids already! By the way, we should hang out again soon...hmm, life is stupidly busy...how does September sound?

***Reading IN her tiara, not her her. I'm smart.

that is the cutest thing! And by 'that' I mean the stool, the crown, the bookshelf, Chloe (of course) and the whole idea of her own little book nook. I love it!

Ok, so I've been wondering what to put in that lil' niche in our {twinner} house. I bought this fabric from Ikea... too hard to explain, but anyway- leave it to you to think of something totally domestic/interior-designer worthy! Would it be cute to paint inside of it? Or is that totally off?

Ok...can I just say I HEART your whole house! Is there anything that is not way too cute anywhere in it?! I love the rack/shelf thingy...I am slightly obsessed with anything red...it seems to creep into every room of our house (no matter the original starting color of the room). And I love the bookshelf idea. And I pretty much love slash covet Chloes new stool!

It amazes me how long she will sit and look at books. If I had not seen it, I wouldn't believe it. Go Chloe! Way to find the bargain books.

What a cute idea! I think it looks better with the fab books on it. I learned very quickly to put everything I cared about up high. It's funny how much your house changes after having kids.

That's a great idea! My kids need a downstairs bookcase too, and I need the off-limits stuff to be, well, off-limits. And out of reach. Eve is significantly more persistent than her brother was!
