morning musings

it's naptime.
and chloe's in denial about it.

this morning we attempted a morning of errands o' plenty.
{
attempted being the key word.}

we busted out my old cds for the trip
"into town."
between here & mesa, there are millions of stoplights aka
opportunities to be out-of-control a.d.d about switching from cd to cd.
we rocked to a randomly-delightful array of
musical snacks that i've decided need to be on my ipod sometime w/in the next 24 hours.

*that thing, lauryn hill {doo-wop}
*that summer {love me some garth}
*all things the cure {acoustic style}
*promise ring {say goodbye good}
*destiny's child {jumpin' jumpin'}
*dashboard confesh {number three over & over}
*collective soul {"sister don't cry, sista don't cry no more, sis-ta-don't-cry-anymore"}
*deanna carter {we danced anyway...}

...and i sang louder than the stereo, probably 90% of the way.
isn't chloe lucky?
i probably should be a good mom & bust out the wee sing silly songs one of these days.
and then my one year old probably wouldn't know the introduction to "drop it like it's hot."
which would probably be a good thing.
{but, too late.}

we made our way to sb-etc. to grab supplies for tonight's beloved relief society scrapbook night that i'm in chig-it-ity charge of...

and that's when specsh decided on our first errand that she wanted to be tired & mildly cranky.
which was enough for me to bag my carwash/drycleaner/oil change plans & go to einsteins to get daddy some breakfast.

so we did just that: got dad his fave shmear.
{and yes, chloe wears this outfit often}

and we took a lil visit to his office, where he was babysitting telemarketers & doing his other office duties before his insurance appointments today.

and then chloe pretended to be him...

and wanted to take a nap in the conference room.

and did a puz while dad ate his bagel {in one bite} apparently.

and then we went home.
because she started screaming.
because she was tired.
and now she won't nap.
isn't it ironic?
don't ya think?
a little tooooooo ironic.
yes, i really do think.
it's like raaaaiiiiiiiinnnnn....

jk.
ANYWHOOOO!!!

in other news:
i can't find my keys.

yes, folks: i'm livin' off the spare.
i'm offering 8 doll-hairs to whoever finds them for me.
{oh, and i've already checked the freezer, the trunk, the front door, the pantry, and the garbage, so don't bother looking in any of those common spots.}

also: who knew that real simple has a family version?
not me.
until now.
and upon discovery, i squealed w/ delight.
{by myself, in walmart, at 1am.}

um, my muscles hurt.
{myron & i are on a qwest for perfect abs.}
and yesterday, the beginner boot camp did me in!
myron's not even sore.
jealousy.

i have a new plant called a pink polka dot plant.
and it is growing like crazy.

so...come to this okay?
it is a bake sale honoring my baby-bffl ashlee adams.
who just got out of the hospital post-surg!!
for more info & ways you can help, click:
here.

purple towels & wash cloths were on clearance @ target last night.
i hit some up for the masta bath.

myron hung my curtain rods!
now if i just knew how to sew...

tonight for dinner, we are having something chicken-ish.
any ideas?

i think chloe's finally out.
time to get busy.

love to all!
{and happy tuesday!}
&
GOD BLESS AMERICA

So is this delightfully long blog meant to make up for the last three weeks of AWOL-ness? :) Loved it.

that was the longest, most random post ever... but of course, i loved it all! you seriously crack me up! chloe's, of course, super cute in all these pics!

dinner idea: chicken and stuffing. it's my favorite meal EVER! i might even make it for our dinner tonight, cause now i'm craving it! chicken, mozarella{sp?} cheese and cream of chicken/milk mixture, add a little seasoning salt on the chicken too. bake 45 minutes at 350. while it's baking cook some stovetop stuffing, then put it on top of the chicken for the last 15 minutes{it will cook for an hour total}. if you make it, let me know how you like it!

very cute...Rome does that...the little fart (dad loves it when I call him this...not)...

I like that Chloe still has a binky. Rome gets comments like...he still sucks a binky...mostly because he is as tall as a 5 year old...

hey, we're thinking about having playgroup at my house this week...perhaps friday...around 9:30ish...busy?

Here's a few ideas. All but one you'd have enough time to throw together. These are tried and true in our house!!!

Ritz Chicken

3 cooked and cubed chicken breasts (just shred it)
1 1/2 cups cooked rice
2 cans cream of chicken
1 (8 oz) pkg of cream cheese or 1 tub of sr cream
1 stick of butter
1 tube of ritz crackers
2 tsp poppy seeds

Cook chicken and rice. Mix in a big bowl chicken, rice, 2 cans cream of chicken, and sr cream or cream cheese. Put in 9x13 pan. Melt butter. In a seperate small bowl mix crushed up ritz crackers, butter, and poppy seeds. This becomes the crumb topping. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.

Spicey Chicken Tacos

2-3 cups cooked chicken, shredded
3 green onions, chopped
1 small can diced green chili
2 cups salsa
4 oz cream cheese
1 pkg hard shell tacos

Saute chicken, onions, chilies, and salsa until moisture is almost gone. Add cream cheese and stir until melted. Place in taco shells with desired toppings (ie: lettuce, tomato, cheese, etc)

Cream Cheese Chicken

4-6 boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 stick of butter, melted
1 small pkg Italian dressing mix
1 can cream of chicken soup
8 oz pkg cream cheese

Rinse chicken. Place chicken in crock pot. Add italian dressing and butter in a bowl. Mix well. Pour over chicken. Cover and cook for 5-6 hours. One hour before serving, remove chicken; add soup and cream cheese. Melt. Replace chicken and finish cooking. Serve over noodles.

Chicken Enchiladas

3 cooked chicken breasts, shredded
1/2 an onion
1 small can green chili
1 can cream of chicken
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup milk
1 pkg 12 corn tortillas

Saute onions and green chili's. Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Tear tortillas into 4ths. Layer sauce and tortillas: sauce, tortillas, cheese, etc. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.

Chicken Croissants

8 oz cream cheese, softened
2 tbls melted butter
2 cups cooked cubed chicken
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
3 tbls milk
1 tbls chopped onions
3/4 cup bread crumbs
2 cans Pillsbury croissants

Mix ingredients together. Put 2 croissants together to form a rectangle. Spoon mixture on to dough and wrap, pressing open edges together. Roll in bread crumbs. Bake at 350 for 30 min.

Sauce: 1 can of cream of chicken soup; mix in 1/2 cup sour cream and 1/2 cup milk.

Wow, candlands, those are some good lookin' recipies. Loved the blog Angie. I would totoally say it made up for your absence over the past few weeks. So random but ohh so cute! Glad your back...full force! BTW...you were totally in my dream last night. Probably because I looked at your blog before I went to bed. You had a tiny baby girl {in my dream} and I totally saved her for ya. All these people were attacking where we lived {like out in this wilderness with mountains}. After I saved the baby I couldn't find ya. But then this girl told me where you were. You and Myron were up in this attic hiding. You were so happy to see your baby. Ha ha. Crazy, i know! Don't know what's wrong with me. I have such weird dreams when I'm pregnant!

hey ange. cori here. i would say... go for red robin. they have yummy chicken sandwiches. or chicken salads. taco bell has a yummy chicken soft taco. IF you have the chicken thawed, and you have some yummy peppers, make fajitas. those are my favorite. you are prolly eating as we speak, and already indulging in some chicken. or did you chicken out and go for some spaghetti?

chloe is a doll. i love her little grin under her pacifier.

and when did you get an ipod? you didn't tell me? i am still waiting for mine. oh or is it your bro's? i think i remember you telling me something about that.

real simple is just so great. in EVERY way. you need to get becky reading that, along with all your scrap mags.

sorry to be a pooper about your keys, but i think they are gone. give up now. maybe chloe threw them away. we had lots of things put in the trash with carter and keaton when they were one. i think because they saw us throwing everything away. we found my shoe in their once. a remote, and we never did find a set of brandons keys. let me know if you find them.

ok. thats all friend.

Let's see...

1. I am also living off my spare key. I think my real set is lost somewhere in the Pit of Despair/ garage. Hmmm.

2. We went to SBEtc today as well, and my kids were little trolls too! Must be something about the place., Either that, or I am being cosmically punished for even attempting to take both of them with me.

3. I hate when they play when they should be napping. They're happy, so you can't be mad at them, but dang it - they should be asleep!

4. God bless America indeed.

Oh, and did I tell you R-Dawg finally found his keys after two months????? Again.

Perhaps in the dishwasher? At least you have the excuse that you had a toddler that lost them for you...right?
And just so you know, Lizzie's favorite song is "Ain't No Holla Back", so I would say that you've got nothing to worry about with the girl.
Also I might LOVE the picture of Myron's biggest bite ever! Just last night as I was searching for pictures I found a picture of the Food Ho at Chris and Beth's wedding. Do you remember that? I'm maybe gagging a little just imagining it again!
And I want to hang out. Perhaps you should name the day and time since I really never have anything going on and you have like a busy work at home and work job. So that's all. Have a fantastic evening!

I was cracking up at the you CD section, changing the selection 100 times but thinking that you should probabley play silly songs. I go through that all the time, I just can't handle listening to Baby Loves Jazz everyday all day long! My son knows all the words to my Brad Paisley cd, among others that I can't remember now. I would love love love to do a disney scrapbook class. We went in Feb and are going again this Jan. I want to get pages for those pictures in the boys books. Fun times, I Love Disneyland!

Angie! I'm so glad you found my blog via Chelsea's. I was so excited to hear from you and have tried to respond back but for some reason my computer has refused to let me comment on anything, anywhere! It's so nice to see that somebody else has the EXACT same DVD's sitting out (with the exception of the Perfect AB's- I guess were are too busy alternating between The Little Mermaid and Arrested Development to maintain perfect abs...) Zach has a blog too, maybe I should put some links on my page? Hmm. One day. Your little girl looks just like you! She is so cute. I love the book nook story. I hope all is as happy and well as it seems. I'm glad we can now be in semi-contact.
