well, after six months of naked curtain rods....

i finally decided to bust out the fabric-n-sewing machine & recruit my {super} kind mom to help me with my valances for the living room...

i'm really diggin' the color they bring.
they make me happy.

{this is what they look like; there are three.}

thanks mom, for holding my hand, every single step of the way!

{oh, and happy birthday too- to you & your son david, aka my brother.}

love, ang

Those valances absolutely ROCK (using your words) I am actually getting ready to do that too in my office. Did you use a pattern? BTW-when I saw your parents I wanted to get up and chase after them and introduce myself, but since I was sitting the front row of a large stake mtg, well, it would have been a little embarrassing!

from one sewer {no, wait . . . let's make that "seamstress"} to another ~ cutest valances. good job! oh, and ↓ = hold down the ALT key and type 25 on the number pad. there's nothin' to it.

They look GREAT! You did an awesome job. You are way ahead of me and I have lived in my house for 6 years, sad I know.
Happy Wednesday to you!

Your curtains are awesome, very impressed that you sewed those! I have only one curtain in my whole house, even worse, is that it is a valance that matched Luke's crib set and it is still up in his old room which is now my scrapbook room. Super cool to have blue/green trains, stars and cars to go with all my cute IKEA stuff! tee hee But, way to go!

Ok Mrs. Domestic! I love them! Since our windows are probably the same exact size and all, maybe I could come over and re-duplicate those bad boyz? Oh and about your comment on pj's- I was seriously going to write like exactly what you said, only up until Christmas this year I still wore oversized tees and b-ball shortz. Hit up Old Navy/VS/Macy's... I might have gone from zero to three pair in 3 days.

SO CUTE.

I am really really impressed, even if your mom "held your hand every step of the way"

They turned out so good! Love the colors!

Ang = domestic goddess. Cute cute cute! Good job! I laughed the hardest at the picture of wet Mr. Miyagi. It makes me miss Mags. She looked like that after a rainy day. I, too, love rainy/cloudy/foggy days.

Too cute! I have been feeling the itch for valences, but me + sewing = bad. So I looked at Target & WM, no such luck.

Ang, can you tell me the pattern brand and number? I'm dying for color in the piano room and those valances look like my style...

P.S. Did I mention they look great? That would be why I want some. I had no idea you were a sewer. Go you.

P.P.S. Maybe the reason women who sew are called seamstresses instead of sewers is because you don't want to get confused with the thing that backed up into my front yard and made the whole neighborhood stink.
